The North West SYNOD of the United Reformed Church has reorganised its 130 churches by reviewing mission priorities. Churches are forming groups to share resources and strengthen ties as Mission Partners. We at Cheadle Hulme and our sister church at Bramhall have joined the Greater Manchester South & Cheshire Missional Patnership which was commissioned in JULY 2019.
Four ministers will be assigned to the fifteen URC churches sharing mission, and will join the teams of non-stipendary ministers, retired ministers, preachers, local leaders and elders in deciphering mission priorities for the partnership. Two ministers are estabished already; Rev Jonnie Hill, Dr Marion Tugwood, and the Rev Kuauone Mutimwee (from Zimbabwe) will join the ministry team in September.
The 15 partner URCs are…
Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme, Heald Green, Gatley, Sale, Altrincham, Heaton Moor, Ashton on Mersey, Didsbury, Christ Church, The Dandelion Community (Wythenshawe), Edgeley LEP, Trinity (Cheadle) LEP.
LEP=Local Ecumenical Partnership (usually with the local Methodist Church)
A joint Steering Grp meets monthly, and is focusing on sharing mission and resources across the partnership.
