The North West SYNOD of the United Reformed Church has reorganised its 110 churches by reviewing mission priorities. Churches are forming groups to share resources and strengthen ties as Mission Partners. We at Cheadle Hulme and our sister church at Bramhall have joined the Greater Manchester South Missional Patnership which was commissioned in JULY 2019.
Two ministers are assigned to the eight URC churches sharing mission, and will join the teams of non-stipendary ministers, retired ministers, preachers, local leaders and elders in deciphering mission priorities for the partnership. Two ministers are estabished; Rev Kuauone Mutimwee (from Zimbabwe) and Rev Stephanie Atkins and they form the ministry team along with Rev Dave Fraser as part time mission support.
The 8 partner URCs are…
Altrincham, Ashton on Mersey, Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme, Christ Church (with Burnage), Heald Green, Gatley, Trinity (Cheadle) LEP.
LEP=Local Ecumenical Partnership (usually with the local Methodist Church)
A joint Steering Group meets monthly, and is focusing on sharing mission and resources across the partnership.
