CH URC supports the Suk Jai children’s home in the village of Mai Gone,
near the city of Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand.
The Rev Abel Sairattanyu and his wife run 6~7 Christian churches, and the orphanage, in the Golden Triangle border area with Myanmar (Burma) infamous for opium production. The diffuse mountainous area is the stronghold of six culturally distinct peoples – the Karen, Hmong, Mien, Lahu, Akha and Lisu – struggling to maintain the integrity of their beliefs and way of life whilst shunned by both Burma and the western orientated government in Thailand.
